An atheist's vision of the future, from the r/exbahai subreddit

Yes Islam is projected to rise due to birthrates. However religiosity also declines with improved socioeconomic conditions, which is on an upward trajectory. AI will help with this, with more people enjoying a better quality of life and therefore less inclined to ask their storm gods for rain, medicine, etc. I also expect AI will help to falsify religion (e.g. highlight contradictions, non-truths, plagiarism, etc.), while becoming a source of guidance and truth itself. Children of the future will understand that they are obtaining much better answers and explanations from AI than they are from some ancient religious books.

It will take centuries, unless the practice of parents indoctrinating young children with religious teachings is restricted through legislation, which is unlikely. I'd expect that religion could largely die within 3 generations if this were to happen globally.

He thinks that socioeconomic conditions will improve. He is in for a rude awakening.
