Are WASPs exceptionally racist compared to other races?

OmegaKV
From what I read WASPs seem to be exceptionally hostile towards the idea of racemixing with nonwhites. For example, the reason most people in Latin America are mestizos is that Spain and the Catholic church actively promoted race-mixing between white Spaniards and the natives. And meanwhile I think native Americans in the US mostly died off because they were not permitted to assimilate into the culture that stole and thrived off their land at the natives' expense.

Also the anti miscegenation laws of the US seem strange compared to what we see in other cultures historically. In ancient Rome there was no recorded hatred of this idea of racemixing. Also, the average southern Italian has 20% Arab DNA because the Italians intermarried with the arabs.

The only culture I can think of that is as racist as WASPs are jews. But the racism of the Jews is something more narrow than that of WASPs. Jews are racist against those whose parents are not Jews. But WASP racism is something broader. Rather than thinking in terms of nations, WASPs categorize based on the broader notion of race, considering distant groups (e.g. Italians or Slavs) to be their brethren, as long as they do not look too different visibly from WASPs.

No, the example of the Americas is more to do with the purpose of those colonies, where the English were trying to found a separate new society whereas the Spanish were trying to exploit existing resources. Elsewhere the British mixed. For example, East India Company people would commonly join at 14 and take local wives. The Maori population is largely a product of Anglo-Celtic race mixing.
