Imagine living in a Silicon Valley neighborhood with a Home-Owners Association

It is bad enough to post to forums run by them, but imagine living in a neighborhood with rules created and enforced by them.

What is your problem, exactly? Do you live in such a situation? And why would we want to imagine it?

Silicon Valley people and HOA people both like to create and enforce pointless rules. So someone who is both a Silicon Valley person and an HOA person will have an exceptional appetite for imposing pointless rules. They will come up with rules like all houses have to buy symmetrical, so anyone whose house is not symmetrical will need to modify the architecture to make it symmetrical.
