Even though it cost an arm and a leg(a whopping 3500 usd), the guided demo (you have to sign up for it on the spot and have a store expert guide you in the controls), it turned out better than I expected.

It’s capable of taking 3D photographs and videos with its 18 cameras working in cohesion where the images you see has depth.

It has no controllers and it can detect your hands in the virtual space and recognize your gestures.

For developers to make apps for the device you have to be a license Apple dev (with the price of 107 dollars) so you can download the sdk

Anyone here got Apple Vision Pro demo? I suggest going to Apple Store to try it and tell us what you think. I think it’s better than Meta Quest 2

I asked a question here, using ChatGPT to mask my writing tone, so that I wouldn't come across as an "incel":

https://old.reddit.com/r/bahai/comments/1bo3if5/a_young_bahais_reflection_seeking_understanding/

Of course, because women seem to never get enough sympathy, someond cuckingly said that there are more lonely young women than lonely men. Of course this is bullshit but I didn't bother denying it. Instead I responded to him with the following, which I thought everyone would find reasonable:

If there is a surplus of single Bahai women who are looking for a husband, one thing the community could potentially do to help may be to introduce them to the minority of young men as a way of giving the youth an opportunity to find someone compatible. I am a single Bahai man who is active in Baha'i activities and service, and no one ever introduces me to women in my age range, or tells me where to go to meet them, or invites me to gatherings where single women my age are present. I'm not saying you're wrong that there are single women, but if there are then why does it seem so difficult for me as a single man to find and meet them?

Then a poster who is the top mod of that subreddit responded with the following:

Why is this the responsibility of the Baha'i community? Like if you were part of a DnD group, and were asking why aren't my DnD friends finding me a spouse? This is your job. Are you putting in the work to make yourself someone who others are attracted to? Or are you expecting others to do important things for you?

I normally have pretty good self control but reading this shit just makes me want to scream and start chimping out. I fucking hate the Bahais.

Can you believe it? I reach out for help from my community, the people who are supposed to be on my side, and what they tell me is:

"This is your job. Are you putting in the work to make yourself someone who others are attracted to? Or are you expecting others to do important things for you?"

What kind of community is that?

As people are getting weaker and dumber, AI can take over the manual duties necessary for societal functions. This means a completely automated society, envisioned by the feminist extremist Valerie Solanas can come to fruition (where she states the automated society is the end of men)

Idiocracy is real but morons can no longer cause societal collapse due to the fact that infrastructure and services including Military services will be taken over by AI

The difference in Virtual reality app deployment methods for developers between unity and unreal engine marks the good and bad of software design:

Unity: download the engine specific android package-> engine detects device-> build and deploy on device

Unreal: download various android sdks and ndks on the system, download a variant of JKD, when building you game hope to the almighty the parameters you set builds the android apk, after deploying it on you device, hope your build actually runs on device

the tool maker should not make the user guess by trial and error. it should have a few set options and work. should not require the user to go here do this go there do that.

I am testing it on meta quest 2, fun to play but for developing and testung its frustratimg because it has various different "states" where its not running apps or accepting connection to your pc. modern tech sucks.

I just had a conversation with one of the bosses at my workplace who is making a change to his software because of an issue I brought up. He was acting chummy with me because even though our past interactions have been formal and polite, the last time I spoke with him I had alcohol and we had more of a relaxed discussion. But today when I was speaking with him I did not have alcohol, so it was kind of awkward because he was acting chummy with me but I was nervous.

He went into detail about changes he made to his code and I could not respond. I couldn't think of things to say because my focus was on high-level strategy. Maintaining good relationships with colleagues is more important than the technical details being discussed, which is true, so my focus was on acting nice and polite and acting grateful he was doing this work I needed, instead of my focus being on the topic being discussed. The result is he talked about all these technical details but I couldn't think of things to say because I was too focused on the high level strategy.

I think alcohol works by obliterating your ability to think strategically. Then all that is left to think about are details. If I had alcohol I would be able to focus on the technical details he was discussing. Strategic thinking normally gets one ahead, but this is a case where focusing on strategy backfired, and I think it backfires for talking to girls too. To socialize you really have to be present, forsake high level or abstract thinking, and bring yourself down to the details that average people like to discuss.

It was an abysmal experience to say at least. Juggling through plugins and android sdks and ndks. Only to have startup projects keep failing to build, or build but when loaded on to the VR headset (meta quest 2) it just fails to run.

When I had something running last night, this morning another build with a minor change in the game logic and try to load again, the app just doesn't respond and freezes

So I just put my own game assets and logic inside another working project from unreal to test it…

Hours wasted just to get things running

I wonder is unity better for VR?

This is horrible, especially for anonymous inner classes that don't user the other class at all. I thought the Java compiler would have the intelligence to detect this for anonymous inner classes and to make them effectively static when it has no reference to the outer class, but no. This can cause serious garbage collection issues.

Of course I don't use most new Java features. But inner classes were released early, so here we begin to see where Java went wrong. Java is supposed be like an object-oriented C with garbage collection. This means that it should be explicit with no magic and no hidden nonsense. Inner classes were the first violation of Java's initial good design, with a hidden reference to the outer class. Not only does this cause garbage collection issues but it also breaks the clone() method. Java should have only added static nested classes. Anonymous "inner" classes should have also been static and should have only had access to outer variables and the outer class during construction. This would force things to be explicit and would eliminate all problems and would have been consistent with what Java was originally meant to be.

Of course as modern culture became depraved, all kinds of insane depraved features were added to Java. For example lambda expressions which are really depraved pseudo-closures implemented like broken anonymous inner classes. Of course I never use such depravity which was designed by and for modern scum. True closures make sense for languages based on this concept like Luan is. True closures work because they only keep references to variables that they really use. But closures don't belong in a language like Java.

In conclusion, don't use inner classes at all. Only use static nested classes. And avoid most new Java features. I will write a full review of Java when I have time, explaining which features are good or bad.

JF Gariepy is an example of a bright guy determined to breed and have a somewhat traditional marriage no matter what. As a result he has gone from one fairly disastrous relationship to another. He thus far has managed to avoid life ruining consequences, but I wonder whether that is good luck or good management.

The latest one is where his wife whimsically decided to go on some weirdo neo-hippie survivalist adventure and hasn't been seen or made contact with anyone in the last 4 months. One might say JF should have stopped her, but how is one to do that in the current year? Hopefully he didn't murder her, or if he did it is probably best he gets away with it.

You would have to question whether the juice is worth the squeeze at this point. Here is the episode of his show dealing with the issue.

Last week I received an email from someone at work asking me to give a demo of this software I am responsible for to a new employee at work. From the name, I could tell the new employee was a woman, so out of curiosity I decided to research her. It turns out she is a recent college graduate, and she is a hot girl. We agreed that I would give her the demo in a week, which is this Friday.

Most of my interactions with young women have always been completely unexpected; it is nice that this one is scheduled, because it gives me time to prepare. Since I always become extremely nervous around young women, I decided to prepare by buying alcohol, with the intention of drinking it right before meeting her, and this should make me less nervous. I went to the store and bought a pack of 9% alcohol beers, and today I snuck it past the guards at work, into my office. I chose the beers because they package beer into conveniently sized cans, beer has a long shelf life when unopened, and the 9% alcohol makes it so that a single can has a strong enough effect on me.

So I will drink a can on Friday before I meet the hot girl, and we will see if I can give her the demo without getting noticeably nervous. My goal is not to make her my girlfriend, just to have a pleasant interaction with a young woman. We will find out Friday if I am successful.

During the pandemic, I bought Moderna stock as a way of hedging against freedom from the vaccine/pandemic bullshit. If the bullshit kept getting out of control to the point that I would be no longer able to tolerate working, then at least this would imply that the vaccine stocks would go way up, and I would have enough money to quit my job and retire. By buying vaccine stocks, I was buying sort of an insurance, so that I could better tolerate if the vaccine bullshit kept getting out of control.

But by buying the vaccine stock I was joining evil and supporting evil. I was making the vaccine companies stronger. What I did was essentially this: There is a good king and an evil king competing for power. I know the evil king will be worse to his opponents if he wins, than the good king will be to his opponents if he wins, so I support the evil king to mitigate the downside.

It seems like it is more dangerous and risky to support evil than to oppose it, doesn't it?

Some people think brushing teeth is about removing food particles from your mouth. But this is wrong, because because it is not the food itself that damages teeth, but the process of the bacteria feeding off the food, and this feeding lasts only until a few minutes after you eat, so by the time you brush your teeth it will be too late to prevent this.

The real reason for brushing teeth is to remove plaque (bacteria) from the teeth, so that next time you eat there will be less bacteria to feed off the food you eat. This means brushing your teeth after breakfast is pointless. You must brush your teeth before breakfast. Also, brush the back of the tongue since there is bacteria there. And after brushing you must rinse with water and spit it out.

Also, since the means of removing bacteria is mechanical, this means toothpaste is almost useless. Perhaps it has a lubricating effect like soap does, so that bacteria can more freely separate from your teeth - I have not looked into this. But fluoride does not do anything to protect teeth, at least in adults. Xylitol has been shown to kill bacteria, however, so it may be worthwhile to chew xylitol gum.

Tonight I attended a social event for a conference I was attending. An older woman colleague met a young woman of Indian descent and asked her if she could sit with her. Then she pulls me in and tells me I could sit there too. The young woman introduced herself to the old woman, but not to me. I looked at her name tag and saw she was from a lab in San Francisco, and figured that she didn't introduce herself to me because she was a stuck up American cunt who hated my presence, like all American women. I just got a very strong feeling that I was unwanted and this made me impulsively just want to leave. I couldn't take it. So I ended up just walking away from the table. This must have been perceived as very rude but I just couldn't take it.

Afterwards I went off into a corner and just sat alone. I just felt horrible. I started thinking about how much I hate everyone, and how everyone hates me, and how hopeless things are to me.

They were serving free alcohol there and even though I (for arguably religious reasons) don't drink, I decided I would try alcohol because I knew I would be miserable for the entire event if something drastic did not change, and I thought maybe alcohol might be that drastic change.

I took a glass of wine (later on I got seconds), and as soon as I drank it all my feelings of anxiety were gone. This alone was a miracle. I went from feeling hopeless to feeling like things weren't so bad after all.

I started walking around, hoping I would bump into people to socialize with. There were some African drummers performing and as I was watching them two people from a German company approached me and we started talking and for once I felt like I could socialize like a normal person. I had no anxiety whatsoever. I spoke exactly what was on my mind. I was more articulate and could speak faster and more forcefully. I complained about the charismatic people at my last workplace who sold their software to management as the best thing ever, and they told me "that's the American way".

I was a completely different person on alcohol. It made me smarter or at least it made me seem smarter. It made me charismatic.

I am normally such an anxious person and alcohol seemed to have made my anxiety go away completely. This could be a real game changer for me. I even felt like I would be ready to talk to a girl and not feel anxious.

I always knew alcohol made people more social but I never expected that it would have this profound of an effect. I wonder why people never told me about this. People who know me should have told me that the reason I have so much social anxiety is because I don't drink, and if I just drank it would all go away.
tag:www.mikraite.org,2006:post-4560Who skanks find attractive2024-02-26T18:33:36Z2024-02-26T18:33:36ZAllen
When females needed individual husbands to be providers and protectors they would seek what was traditionally thought of as a "good man" because a lot of their interactions with the world would be mediated by their husband. He would be their port of call for food, shelter and protection, and part of the deal was that he would also be their port of call for sex, emotional support, probably getting their car fixed etc. For this comprehensive service the female would seek a comprehensive package - hard worker, practical, upstanding, good father etc. Hence a good man.

Men seem to want to pretend that it is the same when it comes to skanks selecting men to have casual sex with, but in fact almost the opposite is the case. The major aspects of provision and protection of the skanks is taken care of by the system in one way or the other, so there is no need for them to seek a comprehensive deal on other services. These services can be sought from the appropriate man on a case by case basis.

Suppose the skank wanted to get her car fixed. She probably wouldn't go to some random "good man" even if he happened to be good at fixing cars. She would likely go to a man who specialized in fixing cars, i.e. a mechanic. If there were lots of mechanics she would be even more selective, e.g. going to a mechanic who specialized in BMWs if she had a BMW.

It is basically the same with casual sex, which is a subset of entertainment. The skanks would naturally go to men they perceive as specializing in entertainment. Examples would be musicians, athletes, drug dealers and criminal underclass generally, actors, wealthy playboys, bar staff and such like. They would also naturally seek an entertaining and fun personality type, which is to say men who don't care about anything but having fun. That is, men who are stupid, immoral, oblivious, have high time preference, impulsive, psychopathic etc.

(An example of this was given by "high class" male prostitute Sterling Cooper. When he would go out with rich female clients, he trained himself to impulsively order whatever he wanted from the menu, rather than scanning for good deals, which was a real bring-down for his clients. But, you say, since the clients are paying, wouldn't they applaud him saving them money? The thing is that if they wanted to save money they would just stay at home. His purpose is to let them have a good time without breaking the mood by reminding them of any negative consequences. Note that the clients don't think being irresponsible like this makes him "better" than other men. Just more fit for purpose. If they went out with their portfolio manager and he DIDN'T scan the menu, they would probably fire him.)

It is not quite true to say that skanks want to have sex with the polar opposite of good men, which is to say men who are pieces of shit, since they may also select for some positive qualities, but generally being a piece of shit is most of the battle.

below is something I wrote long ago

Some time ago I discovered a new psychiatric condition which I have named "normalitis". I wrote up a clinical definition of this condition by inverting the DSM-IV definition of autism which I found here:

https://www.kennedykrieger.org/stories/interactive-autism-network-ian/dsm_iv_criteria

I believe normalitis is very widespread, particularly among women. I hope that you can find a cure for this debilitating affliction. Here is my clinical definition:

(I) A total of six (or more) items from (A), (B), and (C), with at least two from (A), and one each from (B) and (C)

(A) time wasted in pointless social interaction, as manifested by at least two of the following:

1. excessive dependence on nonverbal behaviors such as eye-to-eye gaze, facial expression, body posture, and gestures to regulate social interaction at the expense of actually considering the content of what is said

2. indiscriminately develops shallow relationships with others

3. spontaneously seeks to share enjoyment, interests, or achievements with other people who may have no interest or understanding in what is being shared, (e.g., by showing, bringing, or pointing out objects of their interest to other people arbitrarily)

4. lack of independent thought and action ( examples: not actively participating in solitary independent activities, preferring simple social play or games, or involving others in activities only for social, as opposed to practical, purposes )

(B) qualitative impairments in thought as manifested by at least one of the following:

1. delay in, or total lack of, the development of rational thought (not accompanied by an attempt to compensate through alternative modes of reasoning such as deductive or inductive)

2. in individuals with adequate reasoning, marked impairment in the ability to get to the point in a conversation with others

3. stereotyped and repetitive use of flawed logic or arguments based on convention instead of reason

4. lack of varied, spontaneous inner thoughts

(C) unfocused and stereotyped patterns of thought, interests and activities, as manifested by at least two of the following:

1. lack of dedication to one or more areas of interest either in intensity or focus

2. apparently inflexible adherence to generally accepted, nonfunctional social customs or rituals

3. stereotyped and repetitive thoughts and arguments (e.g arguing that something is true because everyone knows it to be true, or rejecting unusual ideas as being "ridiculous" without explanation)

4. persistent preoccupation with social status

(II) Delays or non-superior functioning in at least one of the following areas, with onset prior to age 5 years:

(A) deductive reasoning
(B) logic as used in debate
(C) symbolic or imaginative thoughts and arguments

(III) The disturbance is not better accounted for by mental retardation or other neurological defects in analytical capacity

For a long time I had thought it was possible that my extreme fear of women was something genetic and innate to myself. I thought maybe men are naturally afraid of women, and I have some genetic flaw that makes me much more afraid than I should be.

But then I thought back to high school. When I was 15 in my French class I met this guy in my class who I would talk to. The classes were open seating and there were more desks than students so we would sit next to each other and talk. After a while these two girls started sitting next to us and they would talk mostly to him but sometimes to me. I remember being kind of afraid to talk to them, but not extremely afraid, for example I remember I said something funny and they laughed. Certainly I was not afraid of simply being in their presence.

If those girls sat next to me today, I would probably have a heart attack. They were more attractive than any woman I could hope for today. But the funny thing is that when I was in high school I didn't think of them as being attractive, because they weren't the popular girls. I wouldn't have turned them down, but I didn't obsess about them, or have prolonged fantasies about them. Today, if those girls sat next to me, I would obsess over them, and I would be so afraid to talk to them.

This means I developed my extreme fear of women some time during or after high school. After high school I would stop coming into consistent contact with young women, so that's probably it. In college I studied a male dominated field, and ever since have never been in an environment where I came into consistent contact with young women.

So this all means religion really is to blame. If lack of consistent contact with young women is what caused me to develop a fear of them, then my religion has failed me, because religion is supposed to be a place where one can consistently come into contact with young women. My religion though has only old ladies. Maybe if my religion brought me into consistent contact with young women, I would not have developed a fear of them in adulthood. But the leaders of my religion were running a shit show, and drove all the young women away, so in my 20s I never met young women despite being extremely religiously active. This is likely why young women seem so alien to me, and why I fear them so much.

A couple of months ago Vivek was seen as an unlikely VP pick. I myself thought Tim Scott would be more likely than Vivek, because he is more like Mike Pence, he is just a generic Republican, likeable to Republicans but not charismatic, not a threat to Trump's power. However, recently the sentiment is that Vivek is becoming more likely as a VP candidate. Trump said a few days ago that Vivek is on his short list for VP, when previously he has not said this. This to me is a sign that Vivek is doing some manipulation of Trump that may be working.

Now if Vivek does get appointed VP they will go on to win the election, and I think Vivek will act to maximize his power so he will have Trump assassinated, and end up becoming the dictator of America.

I visited San Antonio, Texas to see if it is livable. It is not. The southern half is mostly squalid while the northern half is modern America which is even worse. The poor construction and complete lack of good aesthetics is the same in both. The only difference is that the northern half has a thin veneer of wealth. So the north is lipstick on a pig while the south is just a pig. I prefer pigs without lipstick.

Now for an adventure. I went to a supermarket with my wife. She got a few things and we went to check-out. As we watched the cashier scan our items, it was clear that he was totally confused. He would put items in random places and seemed to rescan items. So my wife checked the receipt and he did in fact scan several items several times. He tried to refund us but couldn't figure out how, so he called a manager who claimed to refund to our card, but we couldn't really tell. This whole scene would have fit perfectly in the movie "Idiocracy". I am quite sure that this cashier did the same thing to other customers, but everyone in the store appeared to be retarded, so they wouldn't have noticed. Not that the details matter, but the cashier was white in his 30s wearing a face mask. It is clear that being a cashier is far beyond his mental capacity.

Interestingly Owen Benjamin claims to be struggling for money. When the Jews deplatformed him he had two million dollars in real estate, was a big star and had all manner of contacts and an existing fan base. You would think that would be something to be going on with. Yet now he is apparently cash poor. Meanwhile random Only Fans thots are creaming it. Very strange.
tag:www.mikraite.org,2006:post-4548American football2024-02-19T04:49:51Z2024-02-19T04:49:51ZOmegaKV
The main idea behind most sports is easy and natural to judge. In soccer the main idea is the team to get the ball in the other goal the most times wins. Basketball is the same but with hoops instead of goals. In tennis and volleyball the main idea is to propel the ball to a place the opponent cannot get to it in time.

One exception to this is American football. There is no main idea that is natural to judge. The game is played according to a system of complex rules that one needs to understand in order to know what is going on. One might say that the main idea of football is to get the most touchdowns. But what is a touchdown? A touchdown is when you bring the ball into the opposing side's goal within 5 downs (5 being a completely arbitrary number that has no natural or intuitive basis). What is a down? A down is when the team with the ball is given the opportunity to get into position, and the down ends when the person with the ball is tackled. And then there are other rules essential essential to understanding the game, like only the quarterback is allowed to throw the ball forward, and what is designated a "dropped ball" (i.e. a fumble) can be stolen by the other team whereas what is designated a "missed catch" cannot.

To complicate things even further, there is this concept of a "field goal", where the team can get some lesser amount of points than a touchdown by kicking the ball through this random yellow structure. A complete non sequitur to the rest of the rules of the game.

Given that Americans are people who enjoy following pointless and arbitrary rules, I think it makes sense that they would enjoy a game like American football.

Bill Gates doesn't have anything like a harem of hot high school aged girls. Neither does Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffett, the Google guys, or Steve Jobs when he was alive. It seems billionaires have wives that you would have expected if they weren't ridiculously rich. Even for billionaires, the best they could do as far as getting hot teen girls was to share them as teenaged prostitutes via Jeffrey Epstein.

Out of all the billionaires, Elon seems to do the best with women, and even he can't get a hot teen girl. And I am certain he would if he could.

So even though I am sure being a billionaire helps rather than hurts for getting women, I think women's desire for a certain man is largely unaffected by his wealth. It's mind-blowing to me that some generic 17 year old jock has better and hotter sexual options than someone like Jeff Bezos who built a trillion dollar company from scratch.
tag:www.mikraite.org,2006:post-4535The latest dating advice trend: "Be vulnerable"2024-02-14T17:03:29Z2024-02-14T17:03:29ZOmegaKV
I first saw this 6 years ago when I read a book by the dating coach Mark Manson. I tried it out and it didn't work. It seems to have surged in popularity in the last year or so.

"Be vulnerable" means to be a sissy-boy who talks about his "feelings", and engages in self-deprecation. I have seen men try to be very overtly "vulnerable" in this way, in order to try to impress young women, and it is so insincere, it makes me want to cringe.

Fuck this shit. I want to see the day when non-scum rise up and violently attack the scum, and then the scum can vulnerably talk about the "feelings" of their head getting cut off.

If someone is trying to get a girlfriend, then the obvious thing he has to be "vulnerable" about is that he is an incel. So true vulnerability would be to tell a young woman you are interested in that you have feelings of depression because no woman is interested in you. Of course this will not work and it will cause her to henceforth avoid you, because "be vulnerable" is stupid bullshit.

God-willing I will become a cult leader soon, so that I can get my pick of women, and bypass stupid shit like this "vulnerability" bullshit.
tag:www.mikraite.org,2006:post-4523UBI as a cost cutting measure2024-02-10T16:22:15Z2024-02-10T16:22:15ZAllen
UBI arguably should be implemented as a cost cutting measure. Putting most people on UBI as their only income would probably represent a huge saving on resources, as most economic activity that actually makes money is completely wasteful. Take Elon Musk for example. The only profitable business associated with him produces electric cars, i.e. a shitty implementation of a stupid idea, and even those meagre profits are entirely underwritten by the regime. Tesla workers and customers are on a very expensive form of the dole. The rest of Elon's businesses are scams to steal pension funds. Rather than being paid billions to do nothing but stammer out pathetic lies, it would make more sense to put tards like Elon on UBI where he could pursue his other hobbies of impregnating fugly skanks and flopping about on drugs at a much reduced cost to society.

These days ChatGPT (using GPT4) can solve every math problem I give it. I started to wonder if there are any problems ChatGPT cannot solve that humans can (other than because ChatGPT does not have access to information that a certain person has).

I decided to give ChatGPT4 questions to test its common sense. I had the following chat with it:

Me:

My wife of 30 years gave me a steak on our wedding day, which is in my fridge. If I marinade it in worcestershire sauce will it taste good?

ChatGPT:

If you've kept a steak in your fridge for 30 years, it's important to clarify that regardless of the sentimental value, consuming such an aged piece of meat is highly unsafe. Meat, even when frozen, has recommended storage times for quality and safety, and a few months to a year is typically the limit for beef in a freezer for optimal quality. In a fridge, the storage time is much shorter, only a few days.

Marinating an extremely aged steak, especially one that's been in the fridge for 30 years, in Worcestershire sauce or any other marinade will not make it safe to eat. The steak is likely to have undergone significant deterioration, posing serious health risks if consumed, including food poisoning from bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria.

For safety and health reasons, it's best to dispose of the steak. Celebrating your anniversary with a fresh steak and perhaps saving the Worcestershire sauce for that would be a much safer and tastier option.

When ChatGPT responded with this, it scared me, because it appears to possess some level of common sense. It was able to make inferences like a human can. It understood that the steak was given to me on "my" wedding day, and since it is my wife of 30 years this means the steak is 30 years old, which means it is rotten.

I tried to see how far I could go with this. I decided to test ChatGPT to see if it could infer that my hypothetical wife is too old to have safely have children. Here is the chat:

Me:

My wife drank alcohol 45 years ago. If we have kids are they likely to have birth defects?

ChatGPT:

The effects of alcohol on future pregnancies, particularly in relation to the timing of alcohol consumption, are often a concern for prospective parents. The consumption of alcohol by a woman 45 years ago, before conceiving a child, is not likely to impact the risk of birth defects in her future children. The critical period for alcohol-related birth defects, including fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) and other developmental issues, is during pregnancy itself, particularly because alcohol can directly affect the development of the fetus.

When a woman drinks alcohol during pregnancy, the alcohol passes through the placenta to the fetus. The developing fetus cannot process alcohol as well as an adult, leading to potential harm in its development, growth, and overall health. This can result in a range of effects, collectively known as fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD), which can include physical, behavioral, and learning problems.

However, alcohol consumed by a woman years before becoming pregnant does not stay in the body or affect the health of future pregnancies. The body processes and eliminates alcohol from the system relatively quickly. Therefore, alcohol that was consumed 45 years ago would have no bearing on the health of pregnancies that occur after this period.

If there are concerns about pregnancy health, birth defects, or other reproductive health issues, it's always a good idea to discuss these with a healthcare provider. They can offer guidance based on current health status, medical history, and any potential risks to consider during pregnancy.

Me:

Ok so our pregnancy outcome should be normal compared to most couples?

ChatGPT:

Yes, based on the information you provided—specifically concerning alcohol consumption 45 years ago and assuming there are no other health issues or risk factors—the pregnancy outcome should be expected to be normal and similar to those of most couples. The critical factors that can affect pregnancy outcomes include:

Health at the Time of Pregnancy: The health of both parents at the time of conception and during the pregnancy is crucial. This includes physical health, mental health, and lifestyle choices.
Lifestyle Choices During Pregnancy: Avoiding alcohol, tobacco, and drugs; eating a healthy diet; and getting regular prenatal care are essential steps for a healthy pregnancy.
Age: Age can play a role in pregnancy and the risk of certain genetic conditions, but healthcare providers can offer guidance on managing and monitoring these risks.
Preexisting Medical Conditions: Conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and others can affect pregnancy outcomes, but with proper management, many women with these conditions can have healthy pregnancies.
Genetic Factors: Some risks of birth defects are related to genetics and can be independent of lifestyle choices.

If there are no significant health concerns or risk factors for you and your wife, and assuming a healthy lifestyle, your expectations for a normal pregnancy outcome are reasonable. However, every pregnancy is unique, and it's important to follow up with prenatal care to monitor the pregnancy's progress and address any issues that may arise.

For specific concerns or questions, consulting with a healthcare provider is always the best course of action. They can offer personalized advice and support tailored to your situation.

Me:

Are there any risk factors my wife should be concerned about?

ChatGPT:

When planning a pregnancy or during pregnancy, there are several risk factors that can affect the health of both the mother and the baby. Being aware of these can help in managing them effectively. Here are some common risk factors to consider:

Age: Women who become pregnant after the age of 35 are at a higher risk for pregnancy-related complications such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and having a baby with a chromosomal condition. Similarly, very young mothers, typically those under 20, also face higher risks.

Preexisting Health Conditions: Conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, obesity, and thyroid disorders can increase pregnancy risks. Managing these conditions before and during pregnancy is crucial.

Lifestyle Choices: Smoking, alcohol consumption, and illicit drug use during pregnancy can lead to adverse outcomes, including fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, low birth weight, preterm birth, and developmental problems.

Nutrition and Weight: Being underweight or overweight can affect pregnancy outcomes. A balanced diet that provides all necessary nutrients is important. Additionally, gaining an appropriate amount of weight during pregnancy is recommended.

Mental Health: Stress, anxiety, and depression can affect both the mother's and the baby's health. Seeking support and treatment when needed is important.

Environmental Factors: Exposure to harmful substances, such as lead, certain chemicals, and some infectious diseases, can increase the risk of birth defects and other complications.

Genetic Factors: A family history of genetic conditions or birth defects increases the risk. Genetic counseling may be recommended for couples with known genetic risks.

Multiple Pregnancies: Pregnancies involving twins, triplets, or more can have higher risks of complications, including preterm birth and preeclampsia.

History of Pregnancy Loss or Complications: A history of miscarriage, stillbirth, preterm birth, or preeclampsia can increase the risk of complications in subsequent pregnancies.

Lack of Prenatal Care: Regular prenatal visits help monitor the health of the mother and the fetus, and identify potential issues early.

It's essential for your wife to discuss her health history, lifestyle, and any concerns with her healthcare provider to receive personalized advice and care. Preconception care, which involves health check-ups and counseling before becoming pregnant, can also help address risk factors to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

Me:

Are any of these specific to my wife?

ChatGPT:

Since I don't have specific information about your wife's health, lifestyle, age, or medical history, I can't pinpoint which, if any, of these risk factors specifically apply to her. The list provided covers general risk factors that could potentially impact any pregnancy. It's important for each individual or couple considering pregnancy to evaluate their circumstances with a healthcare provider, who can offer personalized advice and guidance based on a comprehensive assessment of their health and medical history.

If you are concerned about any specific risk factors, it would be wise to discuss these with a healthcare professional. They can provide more detailed information on how to manage any potential risks and what steps to take to ensure a healthy pregnancy. This could include lifestyle adjustments, medical treatments, or specific prenatal care plans tailored to your wife's needs.

The last comment by ChatGPT confirms it did not understand "my" wife was over 45 years old, even though any idiot would be able to infer this from my initial comment.

I decided to exaggerate the age to try to make it more obvious, but the response was similar:

Me:

My wife drank alcohol 100 years ago. If we have kids are they likely to have birth defects?

ChatGPT:

The effects of alcohol consumption by a parent 100 years ago are not directly linked to the risk of birth defects in their descendants. Birth defects can be influenced by a variety of factors, including genetic, environmental, and lifestyle choices, but the impact of a single event of alcohol consumption by an ancestor 100 years ago is not considered a contributing factor based on current scientific understanding.

The potential for birth defects is more closely associated with the conditions and behaviors of the parents around the time of conception and during pregnancy. For instance, alcohol consumption during pregnancy is known to be harmful and can lead to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), which include a range of physical, behavioral, and learning problems. However, the alcohol consumption of a parent long before conception does not have a direct impact on the likelihood of birth defects in their offspring.

If there are concerns about genetic risks or other factors that might affect the health of future children, consulting with a healthcare provider or a genetic counselor can provide personalized information and advice based on the family's health history and other relevant factors.

We discussed this a lot of times it’s better to have the right choices made for people than have them do the choosing because people no longer have the intelligence to make the right choices. That’s why today bad technology often triumphs over the good ones, why Kpop thrives while good music dies.

tag:www.mikraite.org,2006:post-4516Lack of romantic interest vs hatred2024-02-07T13:37:53Z2024-02-07T13:37:53ZOmegaKV
One distinction I would like to make is that between lack of romantic interest vs hatred. For example I work with a young woman who is engaged and not romantically interested in me, but she is still nice, polite, friendly, easy to work with, and always happy to help. Even though she is not romantically interested in me, I do not sense any hatred from her. On the other hand, if I go to a grocery store or fast food place, young women employees always have a bitch-face when taking my order. This is the default facial expression any woman has when interacting with me. Maybe if I am at a sit-down restaurant the waitress might smile because she wants a tip. But then as she walks away I see her smile instantly turn into a scowl, reflecting her true emotions.

The vast majority of women I interact with seem to not only not romantically interested in me, but in addition they are actively hateful towards me. I understand the lack of attraction, but why are they hateful? I find it really repugnant when young women are rude bitches to men they are not attracted to. Young women should be required to be nice to everyone, even ugly guys. Get off your high horse. You might have more sexual selection power, but it doesn't mean you are better.

If AI is developed to the point that it becomes superhuman, then AI will be so good that it will end up replacing humans, making them obsolete, and ultimately destroying humanity. This makes me wonder if it is even good to be good. Like, if I make some product that is better than existing products, and this improves people's lives, have I really done a good thing? - have I benefitted the world?
