Passover meet up will be 4/15/17

I suggest we have a meeting between now and 4/15/17.

I have no agenda in mind, I just think 6 months is a long time to wait to see each other again.

For location I suggest we meet near Will, Qwerty, or Peter.

For time I suggest January or February.

Qwerty said he may be busy in late January.

I may be busy in January. I will confirm later.

Can everyone please respond with their availability in January/February?

I will be unavailable in the first half of January, but I should be available in the second half of January. And you are welcome to visit me in the Midwest if you want. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind visiting El Paso, because then we could take a side trip to Mexico.

Also, I browsed the Happier Abroad forums, and Guadalajara was mentioned a lot. Do you know anything about Guadalajara, and if so, do you think it would be a good place for dating women, or would it be better to stick with Mexico City?

I haven't been there but fschmidt has. The places probably are different, but for someone who's not sure what they want I don't think it will make a difference. The population is significantly smaller (8.9mil Mexico City vs 1.5mil Guadalajara) so if you don't have a specific interest in mind, then based on population alone I would still recommend Mexico City first.

I personally don't like Guadalajara.  It is the Los Angeles of Mexico.  But you can PM MattHanson1990 who has been to both and ask his opinion.

Okay, if Guadalajara is like Los Angeles, then I probably wouldn't like it either. Let's stick with Mexico City then.

The plan discussed today is we'll take separate airplanes and meet in Mexico City airport.

Do we have an arrival time in mind (morning, afternoon, evening)?

I think it would be easier to pick an arrival time for Mexico City and base plans around that.

Another question, how will we meet? My phone won't work down there.

I will also probably arrive on Thursday evening. I'm thinking of either a flight that will arrive at 6:38pm or a flight that will arrive at 7:40pm. And is there a way for you to get an international data plan in Mexico? When I was in Italy with my family, I was able to get data for $10/day from Verizon. And according to the Verizon website, it only costs $2/day in Mexico. I'm not sure if other cell phone service providers have similar deals. I can arrive at 5:15pm.  We can meet in front of the checkin counter of some agreed upon airline.  My phone will work in Mexico.

Yeah. I will arrive in Mexico City at 7:40pm on January 12 and will leave at about 7:00pm on January 16.
