Scripture

Modern people are retarded and hold retarded beliefs.  Scripture is not retarded.  The only way to get a modern person to hold a non-retarded belief is if they have faith in scripture and one gets them to accept a non-retarded belief found in scripture.  This also means that religions that don't have a well-defined scripture are hopeless.

The Baha'i scripture is easy to define because all of the intelligent stuff came from the prophet and all the stupid stuff came from people after him. The issue is the Bahais, even though they recognize the station of the successors as being lower than the prophet, believe that the successors are "infallible". Even though the prophet never said the successors are infallible, the Bahais believe it anyway, because they are told their soul will get infected with a spiritual disease if they don't believe they are infallible, so they might as well just believe they are infallible rather than risk the possibility of getting infected with the spiritual disease. Those who refused to believe in the successors' infallibility and tried to talk sense into the people have historically been excommunicated, so all Bahais today believe the successors are infallible, and so the successors' writings are viewed as scripture.

The issue is that even though the prophet's writings do not say his successors are infallible, none of the authorized translations of his writings say anything against it either. This makes the Bahais' acceptance of the Pascal's Wager presented by the Bahai leadership possible.

But in the Kitab i Badi, which I translated with ChatGPT:

there is actually stuff that crushes the idea that infallible successors to the prophet are possible. The issue is getting people to read it. I tried hosting a study of it on talky, which I advertised on the FreeSpeechBahai subreddit, but after a couple of months I would always log in and no one else would be there, so I took it down.
