Syfy mini series: "Childhoods End"

I am enjoying this so far as its about Earth visited by "benevolent" Aliens creating an Utopia. A theme occurring in the show is the role of religion in the Utopian society. If the Aliens provide everything to make us an Utopia, are the Aliens better than God?
