What computer to buy

Allen
It seems I’ll need a non-windows computer to program on, presumably an Apple. What sort should I get?

Not sure what's best for programming. In design work large screens make a big difference. For desktop I would go with 27" imac. For mobile I would go with 15" macbookpro. If I only had one option and I moved around regularly I would go with macbookpro. Right now I have a macbookair, but I only use it for traveling.

I'll look into getting a macbook pro then. I can always get an imac later should that become necessary.

On second thoughts, new macbook pros seem to be ridiculously expensive. Are previous models acceptable? Otherwise I’ll probably get an i-mac.

Where would you get a previous model?  The important thing is to be able to bring your computer into an Apple Store when you have problems.

OK so I'll have to buy new from an authorized reseller. Is there anything wrong with macbook air compared to macbook pro?

A macbook air is smaller and lighter, which I like for traveling. It's also less powerful but probably meets requirements.

Well, at least luan really does run on a Mac. Yay. BTW, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to getting technology to work, but how do genuinely dumb people ever get anything to work?
