What do you think about neo-Luddism?

I think I am sort of a neo-Luddite because I miss society when it was not so automated, artificial and computerized. Some of it is nostalgia and others it feels like a genuine loss of something to be desired. I am on the younger end of millennials and by the time I graduated high school Facebook, Tinder, and smartphones were just rising in popularity and everything was "going digital" or were inevitably going in that direction.

I'm not an extremist about it because I am not opposed or dislike using all technologies. I miss the more analog world though. I like my electro-mechanic devices, I like my physical media, I like my analog TV and phone reception. Is it to this degree even in small and/or poor countries?

It is also interesting to discuss what people here who feel similar propose for a possible solution or solutions.

Some say the problem with the track the world has been going on for the last few hundred years is that any society that opposes it will be destroyed by societies that embrace it, while societies that embrace it will in turn be destroyed by it. If so, maybe there is no solution and we are just screwed.

If that is the case, maybe it is better to pursue tech-advancement on a civilization level after all.

There are only a few things I look forward to with future tech like being able to 3D print anything and realistic AI girlfriends/wives, but those are some of the only few bright spots in a very dark future.
